November, the month of Thanksgiving. Time to take inventory of where we are, what we have, what we are thankful for. Our Women’s Guild is blessed with a small group of loyal and reliable members. We have ladies who can be called on to help with many church functions including Sunday coffee hours and various receptions. The men of our congregation have been helpful also and I considered them honorary Guild members. Providing supplies and goodies for the functions would not be possible without generous donations from the congregation as a whole. We have much to be thankful for.
As you are reviewing what you are thankful for during these busy times, I hope you will also remember to place some coins into your blue United Thank Offering box as you say ‘thank you’. The accumulated coins, combined with the coins of many others have benefited many worthwhile causes and organizations locally and worldwide. Information about when the coins will be collected will be available after the first of the New Year [which is not all that far away]. Don’t have a Blue Box? Some are available on the side table at the back of the church.
The next Guild meeting will be Wednesday, November 19. Mark your calendars. We will be discussing having a Christmas luncheon among other things. On that day bring your brown bag lunch and join us for a brief business meeting, a bit of learning about a Saint followed by socializing. Beverages and dessert will be provided.
